The University of Texas-Pan American will hold its summer 2007 commencement ceremonies for more than 600 prospective graduates Saturday, Aug. 18 at the UTPA Fieldhouse.
Two ceremonies will be held at 9 a.m. and noon featuring 476 candidates for bachelor's degrees, and 157 candidates for master's degrees.
The number of prospective graduates for the six UTPA colleges includes: College of Education, 146; College of Arts and Humanities, 164; College of Business Administration, 138; College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, 102; College of Health Sciences and Human Services, 15; and College of Science and Engineering, 68.
Serving as commencement speaker for the 9 a.m. ceremony will be Tom Torkelson, IDEA Public Schools founder and CEO, who will address candidates for the College of Business Administration, College of Education, and College of Health Sciences and Human Services. UTPA Foundation Board Member Ed Rivera will address prospective graduates of the College of Arts and Humanities, College of Science and Engineering, and College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at noon.
