The University of Texas-Pan American ended its recent Spirit Challenge with PSJA Memorial defeating more than 20 Rio Grande Valley high schools in the percentage of responses from its student body to a survey developed by the University to solicit students' opinions and future plans for college. The winning school was honored April 13 during a Bronc baseball game against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at the Edinburg Baseball Stadium. PSJA student body vice president Isacc E. Perez is pictured throwing out the first game ball. The Spirit Challenge survey, designed by the UTPA Marketing Advisory Board comprised of students, faculty and staff, was conducted in Valley high schools March 20-31 to learn what the University needs to do to continue to make UTPA a viable choice for higher education by Valley residents.
