University welcomes students with week of free events

The University of Texas-Pan American welcomes its students to the spring semester with the Bronc Round-Up, a week offering free events from Jan. 18-25.

Local vendors will be on campus for the Merchant Mall Monday, Jan. 23. from 5-8 p.m. They will be giving away promotional items and free samples of their products and services. The mall is part of the Bronc Round-Up, a welcome week of free events for students.
The week began with a Coffeehouse performance and an opportunity for students to meet the Bronc Basketball team. The fun continues Friday, Jan. 20 with a Movie Night featuring two showings of "War of the Worlds." The movie will be shown in the Student Union Theatre at 4 p.m. and on the Quad at 8 p.m.

On Monday, Jan. 23 students can attend the Merchant Mall from 5-8 p.m. at the Quad, in which local vendors will be giving away promotional items. Some vendors include Bennigan's Grill & Tavern, Hacienda Ford, Euphoria Massage, and Peter Piper Pizza.

An Involvement Fair will be held Tuesday, Jan. 24 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Quad. At the fair, students will be able to connect with student organizations as well as find out more about volunteer opportunities and University departments.

The week will draw to a close Wednesday, Jan. 25 with the Bronc Fiesta. The party will start at 6 p.m. at the Quad and will offer music, games, and food.
