Dr. Blandina Cárdenas (right), president of The University of Texas-Pan American, recently met with Anna Marie Malick (left), longtime resident of the Rio Grande Valley, to thank her for donating several pieces of jewelry to the UTPA Foundation which was appraised at $143,000. When the jewelry is sold, the proceeds will be used to set up the Anna Marie Malick Endowment to provide scholarships for students in the UTPA-Baylor College of Medicine Premedical Honors College program. Malick is also a member of the UTPA Heritage Society - an organization created to honor those who have chosen to benefit the University through planned giving. For more information contact Debbie Gonzalez, associate director for planned giving, at 956/318-5305.
