Valley teachers attend Teaching Environmental Science class at UTPA

Pictured are Rio Grande Valley teachers, instructors and sponsors who participated in the 2005 Teaching Environmental Sciences (TES) class held at The University of Texas-Pan American July 11-25. The TES course, sponsored by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), provides hands-on, interactive training to Valley teachers on local, national and international environmental issues to take back to the classroom. The course includes field trips, in-class activities and discussions, student presentations, Internet research and lesson plan development. Class completion provides three hours of tuition free graduate credit and 45 hours continuing professional education credits to participants.
