The University Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of an exhibit featuring new artwork by candidates for the Masters of Fine Arts degree at The University of Texas Pan-American. This exhibition, the 4th Annual Graduate Student Show, will open Tuesday, May 10 and run through Sept. 9. The University Gallery is located in the Communication, Arts and Science Building on the UTPA campus.
A reception with the artists is scheduled for Tuesday, May 10 in the University Gallery. The University community is invited to come and join the students in celebrating their year of work. Refreshments will be served from 7-9 p.m.
The exhibition features work of the following students: John Bazan, Ramon Barela, Rachael F. Brown, Carolina Felix-Ethridge, Omer Garcia, Maria Alba Gonzalez, Veronica Jaeger, Oscar Martinez, Julian Rodriguez, Anna Salinas and Ben Varela.
The work being shown is both two-dimensional and three-dimensional and offers a wide range of styles and media. There is sculptural work made from found pieces as well as in clay. The two-dimensional art ranges in color and texture from oil to acrylic paintings. There is also a variety of mixed media work. The public is encouraged to come and see the exciting and inventive new works that these advanced students have created at the University.
