Local employers interview UTPA students at job fair

The University of Texas-Pan American Office of Career Placement Services held a Student Employment Job Fair April 12 at the UTPA Quad. The job fair was one of many activities sponsored by the office during National Student Employment Week, April 11-15. The week - designated by the National Student Employment Association - recognizes the importance and contributions of the student employee in the workforce. Local employers participated in the event and were looking to hire part-time or full-time non-degreed employees. Among the employers who participated in the fair were The Buckle, House Calls Homebased Health Care, Obra Homes, Outback Steakhouse, Sierra Title of Hidalgo County, Southern Connection dba Verizon Wireless, AFLAC, McAllen Parks and Recreation, KGBT-TV Channel 4, The U.S. Army, Laredo National Bank and many more.
