A group of students at The University of Texas-Pan American had the opportunity to share their study abroad experiences during the International Women's Board (IWB) Scholarship Luncheon Tuesday, April 12 at the International Trade and Technology Building. Every year IWB awards scholarships to UTPA students for travel to countries like Mexico, Spain, Italy and France to conduct research and study subjects such as international business, communication and photojournalism. The goal of the IWB is to contribute to the breadth, depth and equality of education at UTPA; act as an ambassador for the University; provide scholarships; assist with the restoration, preserve and enhance the Shary-Shivers Estate; provide fellowship and meet other special needs. This year the students traveled to Paris, Venice, Rome, Pisa, Pompeii and Florence. The world travelers told the women's group that the money awarded to them enriched their lives, allowed them to witness one-of-a-kind sights and gave them countless, wonderful memories.
