Steve Muenich (left), treasurer of Bike Fest, one of the Rio Grande Valley's largest motorcycle rallies, recently presented a $5,000 check in their continued support for higher education to The University of Texas-Pan American. The annual bike show and concert featuring Three Dog Night raised a total of $56,000 which was distributed to local non-profit organizations and educational institutions. UTPA's check, accepted by Lydia Aleman, UTPA director of development and endowment services, and Mark Lacy (right), Bike Fest coordinator and UTPA staff member, will support the UTPA Foundation's Outstanding Leadership Series, this year featuring James Baker III. Baker served four U.S. presidents and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his exceptional service to our country. He will share his wealth of leadership experience April 7, 6:30-9 p.m. on the UTPA campus. Proceeds of the event go to student scholarships. For table sponsorships, call 956/381-3361.
