UTPA hosts Border Binational Health Week inaugural ceremony

Doreen D. Garza, at podium, executive director of The University of Texas-Pan American Border Health Office welcomed guests to the inaugural ceremony of the Lower Rio Grande Valley/Reynosa-Matamoros Border Binational Health Week, Oct. 10-17, at the UTPA Annex Building Ballroom Oct 11. Border Binational Health Week (BBHW) - the first initiative of its kind - will host multiple events focused on various health topics presented Valley-wide and in Reynosa and Matamoros, Tamaulipas. The goal of BBHW is to advance the implementation of Healthy Border 2010, a U.S.-Mexico Border Health Commission program which promotes a binational health agenda for the border region.
