Crystal Kief, a senior majoring in broadcast journalism at The University of Texas-Pan American, was one of eight students and staff members who modeled business wear at the Career Styles Fashion Show Oct. 14 at the UTPA Ballroom. The style show, organized by the Office of Career Placement Services, educated students about career attire, interviewing skills and upcoming workshops. This year's show focused on transitional dressing - the ability to create a wide variety of outfits with a few key pieces of clothing. Nearly 100 attendees were treated to lunch and given the opportunity to win door prizes and gift certificates. Evelyn Castellano Escamilla, director of the Edinburg Cable Network-Channel 12 and public information director for the City of Edinburg, and Gracie Yarritu, independent senior sales director with Mary Kay Cosmetics, served as the masters of ceremony. The fashions were provided by Foley's Department Store and Stein Mart and the make-up was supplied by Mary Kay Cosmetics.
