Kira Holt (left), service assessment consultant, ACT Southwestern Regional Office, was greeted Oct. 6 at The University of Texas-Pan American's "Tools for Success Conference" by Dr. John Edwards, vice president for Enrollment and Student Services, and Dr. Blandina Cárdenas, UTPA president. Almost 150 high school counselors and administrators met in the Student Union Theater to hear remarks from Cárdenas and updates of programs and services provided by representatives of the University's six colleges and various administrative branches as well as participate in an ACT workshop. ACT is one of the nation's most widely accepted college entrance exams and provides educational and career planning for students and teachers. The conference was facilitated by New Student and Visitor Services under the Division of Enrollment and Student Services.
