The University of Texas-Pan American Alternative Certification Program is hosting an Informational Showcase on Sat., Feb. 28 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the UTPA Annex located at 2412 S. Closner Blvd., Edinburg.

Pictured above are Dr. Glendelia Zavala, Project STARS director; and Analida Salinas, ACP program evaluator. Both work with the UTPA College of Education, and the teacher certification program.

The event will offer information to individuals already holding a bachelor's degree who are interested in becoming certified teachers in Texas. All phases of this program will be discussed and explained to all participants.

The Alternative Certification Program staff will be available to help complete applications, to answer questions and to offer scholarship opportunities for those interested in teaching. At this time you are encouraged to bring your official college transcript for submission of your application to the program with a $50 application fee.

The UTPA Admissions and Record staff will also be available to accept your application for readmission for the May minimester and summer 2004 semesters.

Here is a door that you can step right into, take the challenge. For further assistance you are welcomed to come by the office located in Portable C on the UTPA campus adjacent to the new Education Building construction site, or call 956/381-3486.
