Shell donates $5,000 to UTPA's TEX PREP program

Tomas Hinojosa, field supervisor for Shell Exploration & Production Company, pictured far right recently presented The University of Texas-Pan American a $5,000 check to be used for the UTPA Prefreshman Engineering Program (TEX PREP). The TEX PREP program is an academic enrichment program for Rio Grande Valley middle and high school students interested in careers in mathematics, science, engineering and technology. Also attending the check presentation were from left to right Dr. Miguel Paredes, UTPA professor of mathematics and director of TEX PREP; TEX PREP participants Reynols Garcia from McAllen Memorial High School; Jennifer Martinez, Edcouch-Elsa High School; Jessica Solis and Cassandra Robles from Med High School in Mercedes; John Schrock, UTPA Foundation Board member; and Roland S.
