Early numbers show there will be more students attending The University of Texas-Pan American this summer and fall..
As of Thursday, registration was up nearly six percent for the first summer session, 13 percent for the second summer session and nearly eight percent for fall, indicating the University's growth trend will continue in spite of economic woes.
"I think we'll end up with a 5 (percent) to 6 percent increase this summer alone and we expect fall numbers to exceed last year," said Dr. Rodolfo Arévalo, UTPA provost/vice president for Academic Affairs. "The University has added additional sections of high-demand courses to meet the demand."
Students with a Registration Access Code (RAC) can enroll using ASSIST (Advanced Services for Student Information Supported by Technology) at various locations on campus or from home; by phone at 956/381-3000; online at assist.panam.edu or through campus pipeline at cp.panam.ed The deadline to register for the first summer session - which starts June 2 - is May 14; the second summer session deadline is July 1 and classes begin July 10; and the fall deadline is August 6 with classes beginning August 25.
Entering freshmen and transfer students are required to attend an orientation before registering and continuing students need to see an advisor for their Registration Access Code.
