UTPA Houston Alumni chapter to host first meeting

The newly created Houston alumni chapter of The University of Texas-Pan American will host its first meeting Wednesday, April 10 from 4-8 p.m. at the Atchafalya's Café, 2510 N. Loop West in Houston.

The newly created Houston alumni chapter of The University of Texas-Pan American met with UTPA staff members to discuss plans and goals for the group. During the meeting, the group will discuss its goals - including fund raising to sponsor a scholarship for Houston-area students who attend UTPA - and organize activities with area alumni. The chapter also hopes to assist University students planning to move to Houston.

Among those expected to attend the April meeting are UTPA President Dr. Miguel A. Nevárez and Roland S. Arriola, vice president of External Affairs.
