Clark Gallery hosts exhibit with UTPA, Arizona State

The University of Texas-Pan American Clark Gallery will host "Two States of Ceramics," an exhibit featuring clay works from faculty and graduate students at UTPA and Arizona State University, from Feb. 26 through March 31.

A reception with the artists is Thursday, March 21 from 7-9 p.m. in the Clark Gallery in the Fine Arts Building.

"Excavation," work in porcelain and stoneware by Kaori Fujitani of Arizona State on display at UTPA.

The exhibit includes works by UTPA students pursuing their master of fine arts degrees, including John Bazan, Opal Jane Lemaster, Chris Leonard, Ray Poquette, Julian Rodriguez, Fulden Sara, Jeremy Schmidt and Ben Varela. The work of University professors Chuck Wissinger and Richard Hyslin is also featured.

Representing Arizona State University are regents professor Kurt Weiser, professors Jeanne Otis, Randall Schmidt and Don Schaumburg, and ceramics technician Rich Piper. Graduate students include Hisu Kim from Korea, Nobuhito Nishigawara from Japan, Keofar Kesornsook from Thailand, Kaori Fujitani, Karolyn Snarr, Jeanne Collins and Steve Garcia.

Also featured from ASU is the work of Yayoi Joy Senda, a visiting artist from Japan, and Randall Brady, a Native-American from Wind River, Wyo.
