The University of Texas-Pan American Clark Gallery will host "Selections from the Permanent Collection" - paintings, prints and sculptures from the Charles and Dorothy Clark collection - from Sept. 27 to Oct. 12.

Kirk Clark recently donated $6,000 to The University of Texas-Pan American for framing and preserving part of the artwork from the collection given by his parents, Charles and Dorothy Clark, to the University Permanent Collection. Some of these paintings, prints and sculptures were on display at the Charles and Dorothy Clark Gallery in the UTPA Fine Arts Building. From left are Dr. Nancy Moyer, Department of Art chair; Clark; Dindy Reich, University galleries director; and Dr. Rodolfo Rocha, College of Arts and Humanities dean.

Made possible by the Clark's son, Kirk, a reception with Kirk for the exhibit is Oct. 9 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Charles and Dorothy Clark Gallery in the Fine Arts Building.

The exhibit reflects the wide interests and great knowledge of the art world shared by the Clarks. It features European and American artists, including Man Ray, Honore Daumier, Jakob Bill, Keiko Minami, Francis Picabia, Roy Lichtenstein and Victor Vasarely.

Admission to all exhibitions is free, and the galleries are open Monday through Friday, except University holidays. For more information or special accommodations, please call the University Gallery at 956/381-2655 or by e-mail at
