The 2001 Pan American Summer Television Workshop is producing the film "Reservations," and roles for men and women are available.

For more than 10 years, UTPA Department of Communication faculty and students have created a film during the summer course to practice professional techniques of movie making.

This year's drama/comedy is being directed by Dr. Jack R. Stanley, department chair and professor. More than 30 speaking roles for male and female characters between the ages of 16 and 70 are available for the production, which was scripted by Stanley, junior Robert Silva and graduate student Mauro Flores Jr.

All of the staff positions and some acting roles will be done by students enrolled in COMM 1616 or COMM 4616, Summer Television Workshop. But, many of the parts are open and available to the general public.

An audition will be Friday, July 13 at 1:30 p.m. in the Studio Theatre of the Communication Arts and Sciences Building. Experience is not required, and auditions will be filmed.
