High school students or students planning to transfer in the fall may enroll in theatre and television classes this summer at The University of Texas Pan American.

COMM 1615, Summer Theatre Workshop, will be offered during the first summer semester. COMM 1616, Summer Television Workshop, will be available during the second summer semester.

These classes are also available as concurrent enrollment courses for eligible high school undergraduates. Students should check with their high school counselors for eligibility.

Each of the two classes carries six semester hours of college credit. Tuition and fees are the same as any other UTPA course.

Students enrolled in COMM 1615 will meet each day at 12:45 p.m. for announcements and assignments regarding three plays in production this summer.

"Picasso at the Lapin Agile," is June 21-24. The other two plays - "Check Out Chekov" June 28-July 1 and "Once Upon a Wolf" July 5-8 - will be cast the first day of the workshop, June 4.

In COMM 1616, students will perform all the production work for a full-length made-for-television movie, "The Old Matador" by Milcha Sanchez Scott. Actors will come from the class and the community. Dr. Jack R. Stanley is class teacher and executive producer.
