31st annual student art show starts May 9

The University of Texas-Pan American will host the 31st annual Student Art Show at the Clark and University galleries beginning May 9.

Graphics and photography will be presented in the Clark Art Gallery in the Fine Arts Building. All other media will be presented in the University Gallery in the Communication Arts and Sciences Building.

This show is supported by First National Bank, Texas State Bank, UTPA President Dr. Miguel A. Nevarez, Britton's Photography, Magic Valley Electric Cooperative, the Oriental Café, Gateway Printing, VHS Magazine, Michael's Art Supplies, South Texas Book Store, Department of Art Chair Dr. Nancy Moyer, and professors Richard Hyslin, Lenard Brown, Wil Martin, Joy Cuenco, Chuck Wissinger, Philip Field and Dindy Reich.

The Clark Gallery exhibition runs through Aug. 24, and the University Gallery show will be up until Sept. 7. A reception with the students is scheduled for May 9 from 7-9 p.m. in both art galleries, with awards presented in the Clark Gallery at 7:30 p.m. and the University Gallery at 8 p.m.

Admission to all exhibitions is free. The galleries are open Monday through Friday except University holidays.
