After nearly 30 years as conductor of the Valley Symphony Orchestra and music professor at The University of Texas-Pan American, Dr. Carl Seale will conduct the final concert of his career Friday, May 11 at the UTPA Fine Arts Auditorium at 8 p.m.
During the concert, Seale will premiere his latest composition, "Symphony for Friends: A Farewell." The Symphony and Chorale will perform the piece, which he wrote for this occasion.
Seale's musical compositions include two operas and two ballets. His works have been featured in San Antonio, Fort Worth and numerous cities in Mexico.
Pianist John Raimo will be the featured soloist for Frederick Chopin's "Andante Spianato" and "Grande Polonaise."
Season subscriptions will be sold in the lobby for the upcoming concert season, which features six performances. The new season opens Sept. 26 under the direction of new conductor Peter Dabrowski.
Other concert dates are Nov. 6, Dec. 8, Feb. 15, March 29 and May 3. Ticket prices vary according to seating.
