The recently announced University of Texas-Pan American University Theatre 2001-2002 season features a variety of performances.

P.A.S.S. presents "Picasso at the Lapin Agile," a comedy written by Steve Martin, directed by graduate student Carlos Flores Jr. and running June 21-24; "Check Out Chekov," a grouping of one act comedies by Russian playwright Anton Chekov, directed by Dr. Eric Wiley, assistant theatre professor, and running June 28-July 1; and "Once Upon a Wolf," a summer children's play directed by Kate Ellis, theatre costumer, and running July 5-9.

The Main Stage brings a piece of Broadway to Edinburg with "Dinner with Friends," along with some well-loved classics like "A Christmas Carol" and "Fiddler on the Roof." "Woyzeck," a famous but rarely produced European play, will round out the season.

Written by Georg Buchner, "Woyzeck" will run Oct. 24-28 and is directed by Dr. Etzel CardeƱa, Department of Psychology and Anthropology chair. "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens will be performed Dec. 5-9 and directed by Ellis.

"Dinner with Friends," a Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Donald Margules, is from Feb. 27-March 3 and directed by Wiley. "Fiddler on the Roof" is scheduled for April 11-14 in the Fine Arts Auditorium and will be jointly produced by the Department of Music and the University Theatre.
