Nursing Advisory Council hosts annual benefit April 21

The Nursing Advisory Council at The University of Texas-Pan American will host the 15th annual Florence Nightingale Benefit Gala Saturday, April 21 at The Club at Cimarron in Mission.

The UTPA Nursing Advisory Council is hosting the 15th annual Florence Nightingale Benefit April 21 at The Club at Cimarron. From left are Paula Olesen, South Texas Community College ADN Director; Maggie Barreiro, CNE at Edinburg Regional Medical Center; Linda Laum, CNE at McAllen Medical Center; Sylvia R. Ybarra, UTPA Nursing Advisory Council secretary and benefit coordinator; and Dr. Carolina G. Huerta, chair of the UTPA Department of Nursing.

The program kicks off with a blackboard auction at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. and the entertainment gala an hour later.

Tickets for the gala are $100, which admits two persons and includes a donation of $68 to the UTPA Nursing Advisory Council. Funds raised at the benefit will be used for University nursing student scholarships and nursing program enhancement.
