The University of Texas-Pan American is hosting the ninth annual Financial Aid Recruitment Fair on Friday, Feb. 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Student Union.
With a theme of "Catch the Wave at UTPA," staffers will be on hand to help students and their parents with the financial aid application process and answer questions on different types of financial aid, including grants, loans, work-study and income tax preparation.
High school students from school districts across the Rio Grande Valley are invited, along with current UTPA students. There also will be tours, scholarship drawings, lunch and door prizes.
The fair is part of Financial Aid Awareness Month, February. Financial aid administrators statewide are reminding students to complete their applications for fall 2001/spring 2002 by the Feb. 28 priority filing date.
