The University of Texas-Pan American Clark Gallery will host "Wall of Color," an exhibit by Berenice Meadows, from Jan. 10 to Feb. 28.
An reception for the exhibit is Feb. 1 from 7-9 p.m. in the Charles and Dorothy Clark Gallery in the Fine Arts Building. Meadows will have a slide lecture on her work at noon the same day in the Art Appreciation Room 228 of the Fine Arts Building.
"Wall of Color" consists of 100 12-inch by 12-inch oil paintings on canvas hung in five rows of 20 paintings. Meadows started this series using scrap materials she had available from large canvases she had painted, and her husband constructed the frames out of scrap materials from various construction sites in order to recycle materials that might not have been utilized in other ways.
The exhibit also contains eight other larger works.
Admission to all exhibitions is free, and the galleries are open Monday through Friday, except University holidays. For more information or special accommodations, please call the University Gallery at 956/381-2655 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
