Fifteen honored as Notable Valley Hispanics

The University of Texas-Pan American Friends of the Library recently honored 15 Rio Grande Valley leaders as Notable Valley Hispanics in a special ceremony. Honored were, front row, left to right: Lisa Ann Gorena (representing her aunt Mariella Gorena, school district and civic organizations); Ofelia de los Santos, lawyer and civic organizations; Rosa Valencia, civic programs; Irma Garcia, community service; Ilda Vasquez, church and community activities; and David Champion, Hispanic music events.
