Dr. William W. Thompson, marketing professor at The University of Texas-Pan American, will participate in a conference this month to discuss practices and policies for strengthening higher education efforts to meet future global market demands.
Thompson is among more than 50 U.S. educational institution representatives meeting for the first Global Education Conference, Sept. 20-23 in Washington, D.C. The group will be accompanied by institutional partners from Canada, Mexico and Europe to discuss issues of international business education and create strategies for building networks, enhancing professional development and promoting curricular enrichment.
Thompson was invited to the conference after serving as director in a Fund for the Improvement of Post-Secondary Education (FIPSE) funded program called the TriRED Consortium. This was an exchange program between two business schools each in the United States, Canada and Mexico, including UTPA.
