EDINBURG - Spanish poet Ángel González will present a variety of his works April 12 at The University of Texas-Pan American.
The presentation will be at 1 p.m. in the Liberal Arts Auditorium (Social and Behavioral Science Building Room 101) and is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the UTPA Department of Modern Languages and Literature and the Center for International Studies.
González's work looks at the world's social injustice and the contradictions and trivialities of daily life. He is a member of the Royal Academy of the Spanish Language, Doctor Honoris Causa at the University of New Mexico and has received several honors, including the Príncipe de Asturias Literature Award, the Queen Sophia Iberoamerican Poetry Award and France's Antonio Machado Award.
