EDINBURG - More than 100 corporations, government agencies and school districts are expected at The University of Texas-Pan American March 7 for the 27th annual Career Day.
Sponsored by Career Placement Services, the free event is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the UTPA Fieldhouse, with interviews the following day. Students are urged to dress professionally and bring a resume.
"I would like to encourage all UTPA students to attend," said Enedelia Kidd, Career Placement Services director. "Our annual Career Day promises to have something for everybody, regardless of classification and academic discipline. Students particularly interested in internship opportunities and professional employment upon graduation should plan on attending this event."
Among the businesses scheduled are Advanced Micro Devices, Atlantic Advertising, Raytheon Co., Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., Xerox, the Arlington Police Department, Blockbuster Entertainment, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., Sherwin-Williams, State Farm Insurance, the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, Texas Parks & Wildlife and the Texas Youth Commission. Participating school districts include Harlingen, Los Fresnos, Lyford, Weslaco, Alief, Dumas, Garland, Midland, Spring Branch and Tomball.
