EDINBURG - Students are invited to visit The University of Texas-Pan American Career Placement Services for assistance with part-time employment during school and job placement after graduation.

The office's biggest event this semester is the 27th annual Career Day March 7. Numerous corporations, government agencies and school districts will have representatives from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the UTPA Fieldhouse, with interviews the following day.

The Teacher Job Fair is scheduled for April 6 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the UTPA Fieldhouse. Health Career Day follows April 27 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Health Sciences and Human Services West Lobby.

Several Career Placement Services workshops are offered to assist students with resume writing, job interviewing, attire and career fair preparation techniques.

Career success workshops are scheduled for Feb. 15, March 28 and April 25. Job interviewing skill workshops are scheduled for Feb. 17, March 2, March 30 and April 13.

Each workshop is from noon to 1 p.m. in the Student Services Building, Room 153. Refreshments will be provided, and students interested in attending must register prior to the event.

Also, a Dress for Success workshop will be Feb. 29 from noon to 1 p.m. at the University Center Ballroom.

Meanwhile, several companies are scheduled to interview on campus throughout the spring semester. Among those are Chase Bank, XEROX, H.E.B., Walt-Disney, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., Mervyn's and Raytheon.
