Exhibition of sculpture to open at UTPA's Clark Gallery Aug. 5

An exhibition of recent sculpture by Richard Hyslin, professor of art at The University of Texas-Pan American, is scheduled to open Aug. 5 in UTPA's Charles and Dorothy Clark Gallery.

The title of the exhibit of wood sculptures is "Boxes."

A reception for the artist will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 2 in the Clark Gallery, which is located in Room 135 of the Fine Arts Building.

Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. and Sunday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

A display of student works, the Annual Student Art Exhibition and Competition, will continue in the University Gallery in the UTPA Communication Arts and Sciences Building through Sept. 4.

Hours for the University Gallery are Tuesday through Friday from 9 to 11 a.m.

UTPA also has a third gallery, the Lamar Art Gallery in the former Lamar Elementary building on the north side of campus, which shows pieces from the university's Permanent Collection. Hours for the Lamar Art Gallery are Thursdays and Fridays from 9 to 11 a.m.
