Lady Broncs win, Broncs lose track meet

EDINBURG - Breaking even against a large squad of Spring Break athletes from Northwest Missouri State, the Texas-Pan American Lady Broncs won late Sunday but the Broncs lost.

Shari Galvin earned three first-place finishes--12.27 in the 100 meter, 24.7 in the 200, and the 4x100 that clinched the women's event for UTPA. Distance runner Kacey Warrick captured the 3,000 and 1,500 meters and Esmer Davila won the 5,000. Sandy Guerrero scored personal bests in the l,500 and 3,000. Dawne Hill swept the discus, hammer throw and javelin. Team scores were not listed.

The outmanned Broncs lost despite wins by Chris Vega, 100; Joe Medina, 1,500; and Eric Rodriguez, long jump and triple jump. --30--
