Trombonist to perform April 21 at UT Pan American

The Music Department at The University of Texas-Pan American will present a trombone recital by visiting artist Dr. Eileen Massinon at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, in the Fine Arts Auditorium.

Massinon, who holds a doctor of music degree from Indiana University, is assistant professor of low brass at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi and has taught at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tenn., and at Vincennes University in Vincennes, Ind.

She has organized clinics and master classes for junior high and high school age trombonists, has performed guest solo recitals throughout the Midwest, and has performed in ensembles at the International Trombone Festivals in Germany, Cleveland, Ohio, Minneapolis, Minn., and Las Vegas, Nev. She has been the featured soloist at several events, including Indiana University band concerts on the IU campus and in Indianapolis, and has made solo appearances with wind ensembles connected with her teaching positions. Massinon will give a master class for all brass players at UT Pan American at noon Tuesday in the Recital Hall of the Fine Arts Complex.

Massinon's performance is part of the Visiting Artist Series of the UT Pan American Department of Music.
