Dr. Ruth Westheimer to appear at UT Pan American April 2

Tickets are now on sale for the April 2 appearance of well-known psychosexual therapist Dr. Ruth Westheimer at The University of Texas-Pan American.

Westheimer, who will lecture in the Media Theater at 7:30 p.m., will conclude her presentation with a question-and-answer period. Those who wish to participate are encouraged to arrive early with their questions on 3x5 index cards. Doors will open at 7 p.m.

Westheimer, who helped pioneer the field of media psychology with her radio program "Sexually Speaking" in 1980, has been twice named College Lecturer of the Year. She holds a master's degree in sociology and a Ph.D. in education from Columbia University and studied human sexuality with Dr. Helen Singer-Kaplan at New York Hospital-Cornell University Medical Center.

Tickets are $2 for UT Pan American students, $4 for UT Pan American faculty and staff, and $6 for the general public. Tickets are limited and are expected to sell out before the day of Westheimer's appearance. They are available in Room 205 of the University Center. For more information, call 381-3676.
