UTPA Computer science hosting colloquium series

Beginning Feb. 17, the Department of Computer Science at The University of Texas-Pan American is hosting a series of presentations by computer science faculty members on Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m. in Room1.272 of the Engineering Building.

"The Computer Science Colloquium Series is for anybody - faculty, students and people from off-campus - with an interest in computer science," said Dr. Richard Fowler, associate professor of computer science.

The Feb. 17 presentation will be "Measuring Machine Intelligence" by Dr. Richard K. Fox.

Other upcoming lectures include Dr. Zhixiang Chen on "Applications of Monotone Theory on Learning Non-Monotone Concepts" on March 3, Fowler on "Information Visualization: Past Successes, Future Directions" on March 24, and Dr. Michael L. Nelson on "An Overview of the Object-Oriented Paradigm" on April 7.
