The University of Texas-Pan American Friends of the Library will sponsor a three-day tour to Monterrey, Mexico, Feb. 20-22 that will focus on museums, gourmet dining and shopping.
The Monterrey, Mexico, Museum Weekend Tour, which will be led by George and Virginia Gause of the University Library, will cost $200 per person based on double occupancy or $300 per person based on single occupancy. The price includes round-trip transportation via public Noreste bus, two nights at the centrally located, European-style Santa Rosa Suites, lunch Friday at Museo de Arte Contemporanio, Sunday brunch at the Gran Hotel Ancira, tour guide information and all museum entrance fees. Other meals and personal expenses are not included in the tour price.
The three-day tour will depart from the Autobus Turismo Rapidos Inc. bus station in McAllen. The group will meet at 7:45 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, and depart at 8:30 a.m.
Tour occupancy is limited to approximately 20 people. Reservations may be made by calling George Gause at 381-2726 during work hours or 686-3914 after work hours. Advance reservations should be confirmed in writing by mailing a registration form along with a $50 nonrefundable deposit. The remainder of the cost of the tour is due by Feb. 2.
