Spanish play Yerma to be performed at UT Pan American Jan. 28-31

Yerma, a Spanish play by Federico Garcia Lorca, will be performed in the Media Theatre of the University Library at The University of Texas-Pan American Jan. 28-30 at 1 p.m. and Jan. 30-31 at 7:30 p.m.

Lorca, known for his poetry and drama, is studied extensively in high schools as part of the curriculum.

Directed by Adriana Davila, lecturer in the Department of Modern Languages and Literature, Yerma is open to the public and is free of charge, although donations will be accepted. Student groups are encouraged to attend.

The play is sponsored by the Asociacion Cultural de Teatro Universitario en Espanol (ACTUE), a UT Pan American student organization. For more information on the play, call Davila at 381-3441.
