The University of Texas-Pan American's Small Business Development Center and One Stop Capital Shop, the Small Business Administration and the McAllen Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring a seminar for "Women in Business" from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 21 at Embassy Suites Hotel in McAllen.
Topics to be discussed will include time management, new financing opportunities for women, strategic planning and marketing for success, communication and presentation skills, how to use the Internet to the participants' advantage, and professional image.
The keynote lunch topic will be "Leadership: A Perspective on Taking Charge and Making Things Happen," presented by Consuelo Kickbusch, president of Educational Achievement Services in San Antonio, who retired from the U.S. Army this year as the highest ranking Hispanic in combat support.
Lunch is included in the registration fee, which is $50 for members of the McAllen Chamber of Commerce and $65 for non-members.
