First Faculty Forum scheduled for Oct. 8

The Alumni Association's annual Faculty Forum luncheon series will continue this year, beginning at noon Oct. 8 at the McAllen Country Club.

The Oct. 8 Faculty Forum will feature Dr. Nancy Moyer, chair of the UT Pan American Department of Art, who will discuss the many works of art on display throughout the campus. Pamphlets and maps, complete with the locations and descriptions of each work, will be distributed to the attendees.

On Nov. 5, Dr. Jon Sorensen, professor of criminal justice and an

expert on the death penalty and incarceration, will discuss the causes of crime throughout history and the myths that society holds about them.

Dr. James Haule, professor of English, will speak Feb. 4 on poetry - how to read it and how to enjoy it more thoroughly, and on March 4, Dr. Joann Mitchell Burns, professor of education, will discuss the identification and nurturing of a gifted child

The cost of each event will be $12.50 a person; a one-time package price of $50 for all four forums will be available. Reservations are required. Call the Alumni Association at
