The Contracts
Office has the following responsibilities:
To assist
departments in the different type of contracts for execution and
processing.
Assign
contract numbers to the contracts processed through the Contracts
Office.
Process all
consultant contracts requests, including major consultant contracts.
Be the primary
liaison to the Office of General Counsel and UTPA when requesting
legal advise to a specific contract.
Obtain the
authorized official’s signatures on the contracts depending on the
delegation of authority as per Section 2 of the procurement manual.
Maintain an
accurate filing system for all procurement related contracts
processed through the contracts office.
Track
insurance certificates expiration dates for contracts that require
them and inform vendors when they need to renew such certificates if
the project has not been completed.
Submit reports
to the office of the Legislative Budget Board for contracts totaling
more than $14,000 of $100,000 for major information systems as per
the General Appropriations Act.
Submit other
information copies to other related offices at UT System when
contract guidelines require it.
