The Academic Services building houses the computer labs, ITService Desk, IT Support Services offices, BronCard office and Print Services.

The Academic Support Facilities Complex houses the police department. The police officers are certified by the state and are a part of the University of Texas-System Police. This facility also houses the physical plant staff, and the mail room.

Alumni Center houses the Alumni Office and hosts events for UTPA alumni.

The Arts and Humanities building houses some of the programs that are in the Arts and Humanities. The ARHU building houses the Albert L. Jeffers theatre, the Panorama, and the Pan American.

The Athletics Strength and Conditioning Facility is located in Lamar Building D.

The Baseball Office is located at the baseball stadium.

Behavioral Neuroscience Building used to be the Biology Annex. In this state-of-the-art laboratory Psychology students learn the principles of operant learning.

Our newly renovated dining hall features a wide variety of fresh food designed to satisfy your appetite.

Bronc Village apartments are available to all students except entering freshmen. They are also made available to faculty and staff.

The Business Administration Building was constructed in 1975 and offers degree programs in accounting, computer information systems, economics, finance, international business, management and marketing. It also houses the offices for student organizations in the college of business. They include Alpha Kappa Phi, the American Marketing Association, the FIRBA, the Accounting Society, the FMA, and others.

The Thermal Energy Plant (TEP) is charged with the effective and efficient production of chill water which is mission-critical for the cooling of most UTPA buildings.

The Chapel of the Lords Prayer was completed upon a donation from Mr. and Mrs. Joe Crump of Mission, Texas, in 1967. It has been the site of many weddings, memorial services, and church services.

The Child Development Center opened its doors in early August 2005 and has a capacity for 140 children of which 70 percent of its capacity is for UTPA parent-students and 30 percent for staff and faculty.

The Coastal Studies Lab, established as a marine biology laboratory in 1973 in Isla Blanca Park on South Padre Island, was reorganized and expanded in 1985 with a concentration on University education, public education and coastal research.

The CESS building houses High School to University Programs and Testing Services, Border Health, Education Talent Search, Community Engagement and UTPA GEAR UP.

The Computer Center building houses the offices of the Division of Information Technology that are responsible for the information systems of the university.

The coed Darrel Troxel Residence Hall was built in 1969 and named after Darrel Troxel, an American History instructor and director of the men's residence hall, who organized fraternities on campus.

The Edinburg Baseball Stadium opened its doors in 2001 and serves as the home of the Edinburg Roadrunners team and the UTPA Bronc Baseball team. It has a seating capacity of 4,000.

The Education Complex building celebrates the unique culture and border history around the Rio Grande Valley; built around a theme of bilingualism and biculturalism among us.

Emilia Schunior Ramirez Hall was named after Emilia Ramirez, a teacher, a lay historian, a school administrator, and assistant professor. This dormitory today houses the College Access and Support Program office, including the College Assistance Migrant Program, the High School Equivalency Program, and the Upward Bound Program..

The architects and faculty decided to keep the walls and floors bare to show the basic elements of design and construction.  The building is equipped with state of the art equipment worth $23 million and was completed in 1996.

Fine Arts Auditorium is used by all the student ensembles in the department of music and dance in addition to various outside groups that include Dance Companies, Valley Symphony Orchestra, High School Bands, Choirs, and Orchestras.

Fine Arts B - houses classrooms, orchestra rehearsal room, practice rooms, piano lab, music software lab, and most of our faculty offices.

Fine Arts C - Recital and Band houses the recital/lecture hall, choir rehearsal room, band rehearsal room, and some faculty offices.

Health and Physical Education Bldg. I includes the field house, an indoor swimming pool, a courtyard, and offices.

Health and Physical Education Bldg. II houses racquetball courts, weight room, dance studio, gymnastics gym, lockers, and faculty offices.

The Health Sciences and Human Services East building houses the departments of Nursing, Occupational Therapy Program, the Physician Assistant Studies Program, and Social Work.

The Health Sciences and Human Services West building houses the departments of Clinical Laboratory Science, Communication Sciences & Disorders, Coordinated Program in Dietetics, and Rehabilitation.

Heritage Hall was built in 1969 and began as the women's residence hall. Each room has two beds, closets, dressers, and shelves. Cable TV is provided in each room. The hall also includes a kitchen/dining area, pool tables, ping pong tables, and a computer lab.

The IT-squared Building is a non-academic building used for the Center for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development. The center works with the community, state, and international business affairs and provides technical assistance to local businesses.

The Intramural Recreation Sports Fields are located northwest of Bronc Village and allow students to enjoy sports activities during the day and into the evening.

Lamar building A houses the Rehab Annex.

Lamar building B houses the ROTC offices.

Lamar building C houses the ROTC storage area.

Lamar building D houses the Athletics Strength and Conditioning Facility.

Previously the Lamar Elementary Gym, the DEHS Building now houses the Department of Environmental Health and Safety which oversees the safety and health of everyone on campus. Environmental Safety and Health is located in Lamar Building E.

Lamar building F houses the English Language Institute and IGKNU.

The Lamar School Complex includes six buildings.

The Learning Assistance Center is a center were students can go for tutoring, advisement, counseling and workshops.

The University Library is the largest building on campus. The first floor houses the lobby and writing center. The second floor includes the inter-library loan office and computers.  The third floor houses media, periodicals and newspaper articles and the fourth floor includes study rooms. 

Located on Van Week street, the Marketing and Creative Services building houses Studio 1201.

The Administration Building was renamed to Maryalice Shary Shivers Administration Building after Mrs. Shivers who served on the Pan American University Board of Regents.

The three story Math and General Classroom building was built to provide much needed classroom space and houses math classes, general classes, computer labs, faculty offices, and tutoring rooms.

The 18.5 acre complex features a 60,000 sq. ft. column-free exhibit hall and over 25,000 square feet of meeting space in four ballrooms and up to 16 breakout rooms.

UTPA has partnered with the City of McAllen to offered the McAllen Teaching Site, and offer an exceptional teaching/learning experience, designed to meet the changing needs of our students through the creation of a student centered intellectually stimulating multicultural learning environment.

The University Transfer Center was created to provide students with information in the beginning of their freshman year at STC and to assist them in transitioning successfully to UTPA.

The tennis courts were dedicated to Orville Cox, a McAllen lawyer who helped build the tennis courts and offered many scholarships to tennis players who attended the university.

Human Resources has moved to the MASS building 2nd floor. The HRBL building houses the Office of Audits, Compliance and Consulting services and the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer.

The Physical Science buildings are two of the earliest buildings on the campus. They house the departments of physics and geology, astronomy, and physical science.

The Planetarium transports the audience on a startling and beautiful voyage through our solar system, galaxy, and through the universe.

The Regional Academic Health Center opened its doors for the first time on April 2003 and is the first biomedical research center located on the US-Mexico border.

The Research and Innovation building has been remodeled and houses the Office of Research Administration, the Office of Research and Sponsored Projects, and the Office of Innovation and Intellectual Property.

Rio Grande Center for Manufacturing , also known as TMAC, is a local resource to address the challenges of today's hyper-competitive business environment and specializes in onsite project implementation and training.

The Science Building is one of the most beautifully created among all the other buildings. It represents the first five planets in the Solar System.

The Science Quad is the area between the student union quad and the Health Sciences and Human Services West Building. It is a grass area and includes a barbeque pit.

Sharyland Plantation

Social and Behavioral Sciences houses some of the universities most enduring programs. The building also houses faculty offices, study rooms, and the honor studies office.

Southwick Hall was previously used as the men's dormitory, and then the ROTC program. Today it houses the Academic Advisement and Mentoring Center.

The Starr County Upper-Level Center offers graduate level coursework leading to various professions.

The Student Services Building houses Financial Aid offices, Career Placement, LAC advising, Registrar's office and other student affairs offices. 

The Student Union was funded from student fee reserves, designated tuition and a Student Union fee.The Student Union is equipped with with seven pool tables, arcade games and 2 dart boards all on the first floor; plus 3 Air Hockey tables and 8 Gaming Stations on the second floor. It also houses the Student Union Cafe, C-Store, Freshens Smoothie, Bronc Grill, Sub-Connections, Salsa Caliente and has Starbucks Coffee.

The Student Health Center is here to meet the health care needs of our students.

The building was completed in Feb 2002 and constructed to make the chilled water system that supplies the air conditioning to the campus more efficient.

The field, acquired in 1960, is open 24 hours to the public. It is used for running, jogging, playing soccer, and intramural football.

Unity Hall, the newest residence hall, has 30 percent larger rooms that the other residence halls. Consist of 400 beds and 200 rooms in a three-stories building.

The University Ballroom is noted for its fully glassed-in facade and can be used for banquets, dances, fairs, and other major functions.

The University Bookstore is a place where students can purchase text books for courses, university branded merchandise, and more.

The University Center is provided so that students can meet and socialize. The building houses the Dean of Students office, the Assistant Dean of Students, and the Office of Student Activities Development. The building also provides office space to student government and other offices.

The University Financial Services Building houses the Purchasing, Materials Management, Contracts offices among others.

The Visitors Center was founded on November 2nd 2002 during The University of Texas-Pan American 75th anniversary celebration. In front of the Visitors Center stands a 14-foot bronze statue representing the university’s mascot – a bucking bronco. The building serves as a welcome entrance for visitors and prospective students.

The Visual Arts Building is located at 2412 South Closner Blvd. and is the site of the old Wal-Mart store in Edinburg. This facility houses the Art department, Small Business Development Center, Educational Talent Search, and Border Health.

The Wellness and Recreation Sports Complex provides a wide variety of opportunities to enhance the quality of life for a diverse University community.
