Section 508
The
Department of Justice Section 508 Home Page provides information
on the requirement that Federal agencies' electronic and information
technology is
accessible
to
people with
disabilities, including employees and members of the public. A
self-evaluation is provided, which details the requirements.
The US Government web site Section

dedicated to news on Section 508. The
Center for Information Technology Accommodation (CITA), in the
U.S. General Services Administration's Office of Government-wide
Policy, has been charged with the task of educating Federal employees
and building the infrastructure necessary to support Section 508
implementation. Using this web site, Federal employees and the
public can access resources for understanding and implementing
the requirements of Section 508
A detailed description of how to comply to
the fifteen web design aspects of Section 508 are studied in Web-based
Intranet and Internet Information and Applications. This
site list tips and techniques developed by the Board, the Department
of Education, and the Department of Justice that have been tested
by users with a wide variety of screen reader software.
Section 508 required that the Access Board http://www.access-board.gov/ establish standards for accessibility. This Access board site on section 508
http://www.access-board.gov/508.htm shows what was amended.
