Sexual
Harassment/Non-Discrimination Awareness Session
The University of Texas-Pan American is under a
mandate from the State of Texas and from the Texas Commission for Human
Resources (TCHR) to train all employees on the laws regarding
discrimination and sexual harassment within 30 days of hire. (Texas
Labor Code 21.010). In compliance with this mandate the
University has been training its employees regularly.
As a convenience to all supervisors, the EEO/AA
Officer routinely sets up the training sessions. Beginning June 1, 2006,
the vice presidents/directors/deans will be able to designate the date,
time and location to present the two-hour seminar.
A form
is available to expedite this process. Once the date and time is
verified by the EO/AA officer for availability, the requestor will be
provided a signed copy of the request. Upon receipt of this copy, the
requestor will be responsible to notify the employees and ensure they
attend the session scheduled.
Department directors/supervisors will continue to be
provided with a listing of individuals in their divisions or college who
need to complete the training.
For additional information on how to schedule a Sexual
Harassment/Non-Discrimination training session call 381-2100.
All Sexual Harassment/Non-Discrimination Awareness
sessions start promptly at the designated time. No late arrivals will
be permitted to participate. This training is mandated by Texas Labor Code Policy
Section 21.010 and must be completed within
30 days upon hire for all state employees (direct-wage, work-study,
faculty and staff).
