The Educational Benefit Program is a
tuition waiver available to UTPA employees. The purpose of the program
is to encourage employees to pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees
in their area of interest regardless of the degree's connection to the
employee's present job.
The waiver will be available to all
benefits-eligible full-time UTPA employees who have satisfactorily
completed one continuous year of UTPA employment. Employees will be able
to apply for tuition assistance for up to three credit hours per fall
and spring semester or three credit hours per summer session for a total
of six hours per fiscal year. The waiver only applies to courses taken
at UTPA.
The implementation of the tuition
waiver benefit is a response to the statewide UT System initiative to
enhance the development of all system employees. For more information on the program, please contact
