Overview
Drawing hundreds of educators, administrators and superintendents to the UTPA campus, Educator Day offers a venue for mini-conferences, workshops, corporate keynote speakers and a variety of technical and scientific/research speakers. Attendees are given an opportunity to brush up on their professional development as well learn new teaching concepts from leading educational specialists. Speakers share a global perspective on future workforce needs in the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields. Scientists and technical experts bring a wealth of knowledge on cutting edge opportunities in the 21st Century and share examples on how to motivate students to pursue a career in STEM fields.
Taking place during Educator Day and led by Congressman Rubén Hinojosa (TX-15), the HESTEC Congressional Roundtable brings together members of Congress, government officials and corporate executives to address best practices and share successful strategies to encourage Hispanic students to pursue STEM fields of study.
