Tell us a little about yourself?

I am a very motivated and determined individual who takes pride in her accomplishments and always strives for success. School is my number one priority, and I value my education more than anything else. My interests include psychology, linguistics, and mathematics, and I enjoy spending time with family and friends and participating in pageants and community events.

What motivated you to be a good student?

I have always been motivated by a desire to make others proud. Before I started college, I made it my goal to graduate with a 4.0 GPA, and my strong desire to accomplish my goal and achieve success motivated me to perform well throughout my undergraduate career.

What is the best advice you have for current and future UTPA students?

The only piece of advice I could offer is to set high goals and do whatever it takes to achieve them.

Who or what inspires you to succeed not only in your education, but in life too? Why?

My family has always inspired me and motivated me to succeed in all areas of life. They have taught me the importance and worth of hard work and dedication, and they have always encouraged me to strive for the best.

What are your plans for the future (jobs, travel, etc.) now that you have graduated?

I plan to continue my education and pursue a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. In the future, I hope to begin my own practice and gain experience so that I may retire and teach at an accredited university someday.

How will you feel when you walk across the stage to receive your diploma?

As I walk across the stage in May, I will feel a tremendous sense of accomplishment as I have met yet another of my life goals. I will be the first person in my family to obtain a bachelor’s degree, and it will feel great to know that I am making them proud.

What made your time at UTPA happy and successful?

I enjoyed the fact that I was able to stay close to my family and friends while obtaining an affordable education.
