Robert Franco Jr.
Robert Franco is a Senior Vice President in Commercial Banking at Texas Capital Bank in Austin, Texas. Born and reared in Harlingen, Texas, he is a proud alumnus of the University of Texas Pan American.
Mr. Franco started his career in banking at the age of fifteen at the First National Bank of Harlingen. He continued to work in the banking industry as a means of supporting his undergraduate studies at UTPA, where he graduated in three years with a BBA in Management. He attributes much of his professional success to his experiences at Pan American where he received invaluable advice and counsel from his professors and mentors. He would especially like to acknowledge the lessons learned from Mr. Douglas Barkley and the mentorship of Dr. Gilberto Cardenas. Mr. Franco earned his MBA from Texas State University in 1993.
Mr. Franco retired from Bank of America after thirty-two years of service and currently brings his experience to Texas Capital Bank. Recently, Mr. Franco was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to serve on the Board of the Texas Economic Development Corporation. He is the former Chairman of Board of the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, he has shared his passion for learning as an Adjunct Professor at Concordia University.
Mr. Franco is a lifelong runner. He has completed several half marathons and over 100 road races. He has been married to his wife, Gloria, for thirty-two years. They have two adult children, Michael and Evan, who currently reside in Austin.
