Attorney Jesse Gonzalez was born and raised in McAllen, Texas. For 17 years while growing up he traveled north to Minnesota helping his family make ends meet as migrant farm workers. Early on, he discovered the hardships of the underprivileged and saw how they were subjected to large company injustices. A lack of both financial ability and knowledge resulted in their not understanding their rights or their recourse to hiring an attorney.
Jesse graduated from The University of Texas-Pan American in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies and taught in the La Joya Independent School District until 1997. He earned his master's degree in education from UT Pan American in 1995. He continued his studies at the University of Innsbruck in Austria. He also studied the origins of English common law at Oxford University in Oxford, England, which is well known as the foundation for laws here in the United States. During his second year in law school, he interned under Federal Judge Prado in San Antonio, Texas. He received his Juris Doctor from St. Mary's University School of Law in 2000.
When he returned to McAllen, he established the J. Gonzalez Law Firm which specializes in the practice areas of personal Injury, consumer law, oil field explosions, and wrongful death cases. He has been a member of the State Bar of Texas since being admitted in 2001. He is also a member of the Hidalgo County Bar Association and the South Texas Trial Lawyers Association.
Since the beginning of his teaching career, Jesse has been very involved in serving his local community and understanding the needs of the underprivileged, and people who have historically been underrepresented in the Rio Grande Valley. Today, he dedicates his practice to serving their needs by providing excellence in legal representation and assisting clients throughout the area.
