Miguel Guerra is a Rio Grande Valley native now living in Los Angeles. As a member of the first GEAR-UP cohort, he visited universities, participated in ACT/SAT prep workshops, spoke at HESTEC and utilized GEAR-UP resources to apply to universities. Active in many different school activities, including theatre, journalism, and student government, he graduated from PSJA North High School. With the help of financial aid and much scholarship, Guerra was able to attend Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, where he later graduated with Honors. Guerra currently works for Radio Disney in Burbank, California and is the first Spanish speaking Live DJ for the southern California station. He says, "The best part of my job is entertaining and connecting with students and parents in Los Angeles communities that remind me of the Rio Grande Valley." Beyond radio, Guerra is pursuing a career in the entertainment industry as an actor and producer. He is also a freelance web designer and developer, news junkie, technology enthusiast, and a loyal San Antonio Spurs fan.
